Restaurant for Member's of Parliament

Location: Constitution Club of India, New Delhi

Completed 2019

The Constitution Club of India is a club started for members of Indian Constituent Assembly. In present days the Constitution Club acts as a platform for interaction amongst the past and present Members of Parliament. Within this prestigious club we were given a brief to create an exclusive restaurant for the Members of parliament. The restaurant is a fusion between Victorian and contemporary design elements. White and gold take over the space creating an ambience for fine dining. All the walls above the dado rail have been treated with wall paper with accents of gold lines running through them and the dado with a white linear panelling design. Gold table legs with a combination of statuario marble table tops have been used for creating a rich dining experience for the MP’s. Within all the white and gold finishes, blue fabric highlights the overall space by taking over the sofa lounge seating on one wall. The restaurants grey travertine façade breaks away from the clubs existing white Dholpur exterior creating its own micro identity. The window openings have been aligned symmetrically on the exterior wall to create a visual balance. The external seating is protected by a pergola which overlooks the side lawns.
